About Errant Viridia and it's Owner

Hi everyone, I’m Abigail and I'm your maker behind Errant Viridia (pronounced vuh-ri-dee-uh)! I’m a Kentucky transplant with a soft spot for bourbon, dogs, and the environment. Beyond that, I’ve worked extensively in the food industry. With that I’ve been surrounded by the smell of fryers, food, and cleaning products; when I get home, I don’t want to still smell all of that. Anything that smelled nice became a hot item for me, from lotions and perfumes to candles and room sprays! The last thing I want is to smell used fryer oil and bleach.

Candles became my go to and over time I became picky. I wanted a candle that looked nice, smelled amazing, and did what it was supposed to do. What do I mean by doing what it’s supposed to do?

Smell good while it’s burning and not leave half the candle behind.

To me that’s the whole experience of a candle. Too many times have I been let down by a candle that smells great in the store and then just burned down the middle. With that in mind, I got to testing and have been for the past 2 years. I’ve learned a lot and now I can offer you the same great candles and melts.

Our candles are made with a soy blend wax that gives a superior hot throw (what you smell while the candle is lit) and cold throw (what you smell when it’s not lit). Not only that, but they burn completely and at a slower rate so you get hours of enjoyment from your candle. If candles aren’t your thing, we offer wax melts and incense as well.

What the heck is Errant Viridia?

Errant Viridia roughly translates to wandering green. A lot like the roots of a plant or extra long vines on my pothos, it's about finding what you need in the moment. Roots search for water and nutrients, while for myself its finding what's best for our planet without having to give up creature comfort. At the same time, convenience has turned into an unsustainable monster and trying to find the right solutions are so difficult. 

With all that being said my passion for taking care of our planet also extends to our products and packaging as well! All items are mailed in plastic free packaging and most items are completely plastic free as well. Single use plastic is a huge problem our world faces today and I want to make it easier for you as a consumer to have one less thing to worry about. After all, life is way too busy for inconvenient shopping.
